Nathan went out to eat at Pizzeria DeVille, a new little joint in Libertyville, Illinois and was pleasantly surprised. Check out what he had to say!
"Hey Pizza Boys,
I had to fill you in on this dope ass pizza place I went to on Friday night. I was on day three of a pizza bender when I stepped into Pizzeria DeVille, a new spot in downtown Libertyville, IL. The place was packed and I had heard good things, so I was looking forward to this meal. This restaurant uses a brick wood fire oven (which I'm a huge fan of), and they like to get a little fancy with their 'za.
Well boys, my pinkies were out, because this fancy ass pizza was worth tucking in my shirt for the night. We ordered two pizzas: the Margherita so we could see what a normal pizza tastes like crafted from these fine folks, and the "Motorino Omaggio", which had Pancetta, Brussel Sprouts, Garlic, EVOO, Pecorino, Fior di Latte, and a Balsamic Reduction. I told you this place was fancy!
The crust was the perfect balance of crunchy, chewy and salty. The tomato sauce on the Margherita pizza was definitely homemade and had a nice sweet acidity to it. The cheese to sauce balance was on par, and as for that other, more fancy pizza I ordered? I'll take brussel sprouts on a 'za again any day of the week. It was packed with flavor from head to toe. Overall, I give this place four and a half out of five pepperonis. Hit this place up if you get the chance."
